Classic kitchen - A modern kitchen design with solid timber benchtop and two pack painted doors

The owners of this property love to entertain and requested a stylish kitchen design with looks to stun their guests. On entering the room, the first thing you notice is the beautiful Jarrah benchtop that adorns the island. With a natural edge, it stands as the centrepiece of the room.

The owners gave the designer a brief that the kitchen was to be stylish, simple, stunning and very practical. The sleek CaesarStone benchtops provide the streamlined aesthetic that both the owners and the designer were looking for and the tiled splashback behind the cooktop is a unique feature in its own right. Imperative to the kitchen’s design was the choice of materials: a stylish combination of stone, timber, two-pack paint and beautiful tiles achieves a perfect balance of natural and man-made elements. The island bench adds more than aesthetic value; it’s been kitted out with cupboards on both sides and the addition of a couple of stools has meant the kitchen can be used as a casual place for guests to gather.

At first glance, you many wonder where all the storage is in this modern kitchen design. As the new layout has been included in an extension of the home, the designers were able to include a butler’s pantry. The extra room, located to the side of the kitchen and running behind the cooktop, hosts a preparation bench, microwave, sink, walk-in food storage area, oil and spice rack, and lots of drawers. This is where all the mess can be made – and cleaned – away from view of any visitors, leaving the main kitchen as the showpiece.
